A cookie is a small text file placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) by a website's server when you visit it. This file contains information that allows the site to recognize you on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, and personalize your experience.
Cookies cannot execute programs, introduce viruses, or access your personal files. They do not contain personal information in themselves, but can be associated with your account if you are logged in.
In addition to classic cookies, GuestConnect may use other similar technologies, such as tracking pixels (tiny transparent images embedded in emails or web pages), local storage (localStorage/sessionStorage), and browser fingerprinting strictly limited to security and fraud prevention.
Some cookies are placed directly by GuestConnect ('first-party cookies'), while others are placed by third parties that provide services on our platform ('third-party cookies'). This policy covers both categories.
Essential cookies are indispensable for the GuestConnect platform to function. They cannot be disabled from our consent banner, as doing so would render the platform unusable or insecure. You can block them through your browser, but this will significantly affect your experience.
These cookies enable: managing your login session, remembering your language and currency preferences, protection against CSRF (Cross-Site Request Forgery) attacks, detection of unauthorized access attempts, and saving your current booking cart.

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the platform: which pages are most visited, what navigation paths are taken, how long users spend on each section, and what types of errors occur.
This data is collected in an aggregated and anonymized manner — it does not allow a user to be personally identified. We use it to improve platform ergonomics, optimize low-engagement pages, fix problematic booking flows, and prioritize product developments.
These cookies are only placed with your explicit consent. You may refuse or withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the platform's operation.

Personalization cookies remember your choices and preferences to offer you a smoother, more personalized experience on each visit: recently used search filters, preferred accommodation types, viewed destinations, map display preferences (list or grid).
These cookies also allow us to offer you relevant recommendations based on your past searches and previous bookings, without ever sharing this information with third parties for advertising purposes without your consent.
Without these cookies, you will need to reconfigure your preferences on each visit. Disabling them does not affect access to the platform's essential features.

Some GuestConnect features rely on third-party services that may place their own cookies on your device. GuestConnect does not control these cookies and encourages you to consult the privacy policies of the relevant third parties.
Interactive maps (OpenStreetMap / Mapbox): viewing accommodations on a map may result in cookies being placed by the mapping provider. These cookies are necessary for the map to function.
Social login (Google OAuth): if you choose to log in via your Google account, Google session cookies may be placed. GuestConnect does not control these cookies and only receives the profile data you have agreed to share.
Embedded videos: some pages may embed videos hosted on third-party platforms. These embeds only load cookies when you click on the video (lazy loading).
On your first visit to GuestConnect, a consent banner allows you to accept or refuse non-essential cookies in a granular manner (analytics, personalization, third-party). You can change your choices at any time by clicking 'Manage Cookies' in the footer.
Your consent preferences are stored in a cookie with a 12-month lifespan. After this period, or if you delete your cookies, the consent banner will appear again.
Choosing to refuse analytics and personalization cookies does not affect your access to the platform or the quality of search results. Only advanced personalization features (recommendations, search history) will be disabled.
If you have a GuestConnect account, your cookie preferences can be managed from the 'Privacy and Data' section of your account settings.
You can configure your browser to block or delete all or some cookies at any time. Settings vary depending on the browser you use.
Chrome: Menu → Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Firefox: Menu → Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Edge: Menu → Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Note that disabling all cookies through your browser will also block essential cookies, which will prevent you from logging into your GuestConnect account and disrupt the platform's normal operation. We recommend using our consent banner rather than browser settings for more granular control.
